If the hearing screening results recommend an audiologic evaluation, the pediatrician has 15 days to make a referral

No hospital? No problem.

If a newborn is born outside of a hospital, that does not change a family’s right to a hearing screening. Any hospital with a hearing screening program is required to offer a hearing screening no more than 6 days after a family requests it.
